Our Vision
Reach – reaching and enriching lives. As the name suggests began with an idea to REACH out to those whose lives were less bright than the others.
Since 2002, our mission has been to provide services- Schooling, Remedial therapy and Counselling to all, irrespective of their social and economic background. (Reach is proud to have sustained so far with the support of parents, sponsors and institutions like S.N.D.T.)
Reach has grown with strength of 35 Students since 2002 in various levels of academician – Beginners, Elementary, Bridge and NOS X and XII. We have successfully integrated our students into the Mainstream – regular colleges, diploma, courses for graduation and certificate vocational courses.
Reach has also provided remediation to over 30 students successfully and they are now coping well in their respective schools. Two students through a slow and gradual process of counseling have been mainstreamed effectively, to deal with ‘normal’ social environment.
On this successful journey, barring a few obstacles we have gained momentum to move on. Our VISION holds the following:
- A permanent premise and basic infrastructure to accommodate a minimum of 100 students – in terms of space and educational equipments and amenities.
- Financial assistance for students from poor economic background (sponsors).
- Financial assistance to enable us to employ qualified and committed professionals.
- A complete Psychological – Counselling and Assessment Centre with support therapies like Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, Behaviour therapy and Physio- therapy.
- To establish Parent-support groups and educate parents to create awareness about Learning Disabilities.
- To organize Workshops and assist Resource rooms in schools to create awareness about coping with Learning Disabilities.
Our strategic vision:
- To grow into a full fledged educational and research institute for learning disability.(school, research centre, teacher training institute and vocational guidance and counseling centre.)
- To provide the services of assessment and testing, all forms of therapy-Physio, Occupational and Speech therapies along with language therapy, behaviour therapy and sensory integration. All of which will complement the students performance and behaviour.
- Vocational guidance and counseling.
- To multiply the number of students form the present 30 to 100,
- To be an accredited National Institute of Open schooling Centre.
- Parent support group and being able to organize workshops for community awareness.
- To work with the regular schools in identifying and provide remediation to ensure successful completion of their secondary level education in a regular stream.
- To REACH out to all persons in and around the city- western suburbs, central suburbs and Navi Mumbai, Pune.
Main focus of operations:
- Our strength lies in a holistic approach to ensure overall development of students-academic, social, emotional development of students.
- Education and therapy being the main focus of approach coupled with awareness about the disability in the community, to ensure integration of these students in the society post senior secondary level of education.
- Our program will include the incorporation of parents and their needs, which will enable them to work with and deal with the students after school hours, and ensure the independence of students in all spheres of life.
- To provide ongoing support to students attending regular colleges to ensure completion of graduation in the chosen field.
Analysis of the social structure:
- Considering the sudden influx of information about the subject (learning disability) through the media, masses are constantly being bombarded with information of different kinds.
- We would like to ensure education to all the students irrespective of their economic or social strata,
- Reserve a percentage of seats for students from the lower strata and appeal for their donation.
- Make available a salary package at par with the other institutions to ensure skilled and professional staff.
Project plan for the academic year June’09 to May ’10.
- New admissions for school and resource rooms.
- Appointing approx. two new professionals for the REACH school at Andheri W.

Reach admits students from all socio-economic strata, thus, putting a financial burden on us.
In order to continue offering these services to students deserving special assistance, in addition to increasing society’s awareness about this special group of children, we need to improve our infrastructure and educational material.
Reach is always in need of funds in the form of the following:
- Tuition fees for students coming from a low socio- economic background.
- The cost of organizing awareness campaigns, workshops for municipal schools and parents of special students is substantial.
- Painting and renovation of the existing premise.
- Computers and printers.
- Refrigerator.
- Books and other teaching materials.
- Benches and tables.
- Cupboards etc..for storage purposes.
