ACTIVITIES

  • REACH conducts the following at School and the Centre….
  •  Educational Field Trips and picnics.
  • Art and Craft activities.
  • Workshops for parents and school teachers.
  • REACH has also conducted an event for Awareness about Learning Disability in which other interested schools have also participated.

Here children are given the opportunity to explore their creativity and workshops are held to create awareness for parents and create Parent-support groups.

REMEDIATION:

  • Children going to regular schools coming for remediation (language therapy).]
  • Age group- 6yr. -15yr.
  • Number of students- 8.
  • Provision of academic training for those children with learning difficulties, who go to a regular college in their area of specialization.

COUNSELLING and BEHAVIOUR THERAPY:

  • REACH offers its students the facility of Counselling and Behaviour therapy as required.
  • Students attending regular school and requiring help in dealing with any emotional or behavioural issues also come for therapy here.
  • No of students: 15.

 

ASSESSMENT AND COUNSELLING,  VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE CENTRE:

  • REACH has begun its Assessment and Counselling Centre in January 2010.
  • We conduct IQ  and Educational assessments. Students are then counselled about possible steps to be taken for improvement.
  • REACH also conducts Vocational Guidance for many of its students to help them understand their aptitudes and available  career choices.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICES

 Utilized our expertise in order to benefit the society in the following ways:

  •  Conducted a programme including awareness amongst teachers , screening and diagnosis of students and  devising  remediation  plans  for  children with learning problems  at  Nutan  Vidyalaya- Mankhurd .
  •  Conducted Assessment and Remediation for children with learning disabilities at the Children’s Welfare Centre at Yari Rd- Andheri –W.
  •  Conducted an awareness workshop on learning disabilities at  the Aga Khan Jamatkhana ,   Jogeshwari –W
  •  Conducted a Workshop on learning disabilities in Marathi at the Paranjape Vidyalaya- Andheri E
  •  The annual function was celebrated in the form of awareness workshops and consultation services for parents of children with learning disabilities at our centre, during our annual function ‘Perfêté’.
  • Conducted a programme including awareness amongst teachers , screening and diagnosis of students  for  children with learning problems  at  Cosmopolitan School, Andheri (W).
  • Conducted assessments for Municipality schools in Andheri East and Parle East Schools, in association with rotary club of Khar.
